It Pays to be on Twitter!

Now that the big race is done, and I’m in recovery mode (my feet STILL hurt), I’ve had time relax and enjoy the other things that I love – like baseball! And boy did I have a lot of it over the weekend.

Yep, that was the hashtag that was used for the tweet-Up at the ballpark last Friday night.

I met-up with my fellow “OG Tweeps” (what I like to call those of us who have been tweeting about the Giants for well over a year now) for a gathering hosted by the Giants.

The event was held in “Triples Alley”, the area behind the out-of-town scoreboard at the park.

First they gave us t-shirts, then let us on the warning track to watch batting practice. It was such a cool thing to see, but also dangerous – lots of incoming fly balls!

Then it was time for the panel discussion to begin. The panel was hosted by Brian Murphy, a local sports radio talk show host and featured Jeremy Affeldt, one of the pitchers (and one of my personal favorites), the founder of Room to Read, a charity that promotes it self via Twitter, and the founders of Twitter, Jack Dorsey and Biz Stone. After the panel discussion, we got to exit by walking on the field during warm-ups.

Pretty cool stuff! And the Giants won that night!

On-Field Photo Day

The next day we were back at the park at 7:30 am for On-Field Photo Day. The event didn’t start until 11 am, but we had to get there early to secure our place in line.

Sometimes being a Giants fan feels like a second job, but on weekends like this, its worth it!
