Wednesday’s Workout:
AM: Spin
I had an early morning meeting that required me to be in the office by 7:30 am. And I couldn’t workout after work because it was also little Jasmine’s 5th birthday (cousin’s kid) and we had a family dinner planned.
So, I found myself at the gym when the doors opened at 5 am. I am usually there around 6 am which isn’t much later, but that one hour made a huge difference. I was actually a little surprised to see as many people there as there was!
I walked into the Spin studio and had to hammer out a 45-minute workout before the 6 am class began. There isn’t much detail to share about Spin workouts, especially when you spin on your own, sans a class. However, I will admit to belting out some tunes from my Burn play list — I mean after all, I did have the whole studio all to myself!
And I must say, there is something to be said about having your workout done for the day before 6 am!
That evening, we all convened at my cousin Shari’s house to celebate Jas’ birthday. Five years ago she was born very premature, weighing only 3 lbs. She spent the first couple of months of her life in the neo-natal ICU unit. But as you can see, she is now a vivacious 5-year old who will be having a Justin Bieber-themed birthday party on Saturday with 24 other 5-year olds. (Now you understand why I wanted to attend the small, intimate family celebration…LOL).
I wanted to get her something special, so I ordered this necklace from Erica Sara Designs and had it engraved with “Jasmine” on one side and, “Love ‘Omi” on the other (that’s what she calls me).
I have a growing obsession with Erica Sara Jewelry, recently ordering this necklace and this one for myself. You can’t see it in this photo, but we are both wearing our necklaces.
The tutu is another gift she got. She has the best tutu collection that I am insanely jealous of.
And this is how a 5-year old celebrates her birthday 
Oh to be so young and carefree again!
