Donut Run!
I got up super early on Sunday morning and venture to the City to meet some of my favorite Bay Area runners for the second Donut Run! (I missed the first one when I was at Spring Training in March.)
While most everyone else ran 14 miles (from the Ferry Building, across the Golden Gate Bridge and back), Sandra and I decided to just run 10 miles which would take us to Crissy Field and back. This was my first double-digit run since the marathon 3 weeks ago.
I felt like crap during the first half of the run. I had dressed for windy weather but instead, there was almost no wind and it felt rather humid. And you all know how I feel about humidity.
Somewhere along Mile 6 we remembered that we had gels (me) and chews (her). Once I ate the GU I felt so much better.

{hey! you’re wearing my outfit!}
We were still a few miles short when we got back to the Ferry Building, so we had to run past it…
…and finished right back at the Ferry Building for exactly 10 miles.
Although the run itself could’ve been better, I am proud to say it was a non-music PR! This was the longest I’d ever run without my iPod! Never in a million years did I ever think I could run double-digits without tunes. Chatting with Sandra definitely helped me accomplish this.
NOTE: She also gave me good advice (as usual) and reminded me that not every run is supposed to be good. In fact, she said she gets nervous when she’s had too many good ones in a row. I am going to remember this forever!
Shortly after we finished, the rest of the gang arrived and we celebrated our workout with some donuts and cupcakes!
I got the mini Running-themed cupcakes from Sibby’s Cupcakery. They are known for decorating cupcakes however you want them. They don’t have a storefront so you have to place orders in advanced.
Thanks to Ron for organizing these Donut Runs – I’m looking forward to many more!

{my running partner for the day!}

{i FINALLY got to meet Alyssa in person. I feel like we’ve known each other forever!}

{with Karin and Ron – my fellow Giants fans}
Some of my favorite Bay Area Runners!
Thanks to Aron, Sandra and Ron for sharing their photos with me!
