I love experimenting by making different kinds of shakes and smoothies in my Vitamix. Though for a long time (years!) my drinks were all fruit-based. But then I found out I was hypoglycemic and I had to make changes to my diet.
I had heard that some of the best foods for you are cinnamon, cacao and coconut oil. So I blended them together, adding smoothie staples, plus raw almonds and almond butter to create the nutty texture that I love.
It was love at first sip!
* In lieu of protein powder I'm currently using a doctor-prescribed supplement to balance blood sugar.
