August Recap, September Challenges

Here's a rundown of how the 30-day Challenges I had set for August went: + No refined sugar from August 1st to December 9th:

I lapsed on this three times:

1. 8/11: Blush Frozen Yogurt: it claims to have probiotics which are good for digestive issues so I justified having some to see if it would help. The problem is that yogurt also has dairy which is one of the worst offenders to my gut. No bueno.

2. 8/23: Ghirardelli Hot Chocolate at the G's game

3. 8/31: Mariposa Bakery Gluten-Free Pop Tarts: I picked up a dozen soft pretzels for a picnic and couldn't say not to getting three a pop tart too! I figured it was close enough to September not to count. :)

I really wasn't sure how well I'd do with this but I'm pleased with the results and will continue with it through December 9th (my birthday).

+ Record my diet for all 31-days

Thanks to having to record EVERYTHING I eat for the Elimination Diet this was a no brainer. I even got a brand new notebook for it.

+ Complete Oprah’s 21-day Meditation Challenge

I made it to Day 16. I prefer to meditate when I first wake up in the morning and I just didn't have enough time to sit through the 16-min narrated sessions. I continue to meditate but on my own for <5-min sessions.

Other Goals

+ Yoga 2-3 times per week{recurring goal that I know I won’t keep this week and next because of my swim lessons}

I went to a SINGLE class during the entire month of August. ONE. My summer pass ran out and I need to renew my monthly pass.

+ No Oiselle or Lulu purchases this month {let’s be honest here, this isn’t likely to be kept}

Technically a success in that I didn't purchase anything from either retailer. However, in the interest of transparency I did purchase two new Oiselle tops from a friend (the tops were too big for her).

+ Finish 2 books {if you only knew how many half read books I have on my Kindle you’d understand this one}

Success! I read these two books on sports nutrition.

September Challenges:

+ 15-min of Core work a day: You can never do enough core and I need to do more.

+ Complete all of my workouts this month: As promised here

+ Continue the Elimination Diet: I have my intro visit to a GI doctor this month that I will have all kinds of data to present.

+ Read 2 books: Since this went so well last month, I think I can manage another two!
