Bachi is a Japanese word that means something like, "What goes around, comes around." So backtrack to Friday afternoon. I completed a Personal Health Assessment that we're required to do during Open Enrollment for benefits. One of the questions it asked was, "How many days have you missed work this year due to illness?" I have not been sick once this year, and I bragged about it to a friend...
Well, bachi on me, because I'm now down for the count.
I had a good run on Saturday, but that afternoon, I started to feel achy. Then I had a sore throat. So I quickly started drinking orange juice. Then I started sneezing and got conjested. Still in denial, I thought, "I'm not sic, it's allergies." Then came the fever and I knew I was toast. So I downed some Nyquil, went to bed early and got a much needed full night's sleep - 9+ hours!
I swear this is all due to the World Series craziness (those posts are still to come). My body is screaming for rest so I obliged, skipped today's workout and cancelled all plans. Instead, I spent most of the day napping, resting, and watching sports on TV, like the New York Marathon. While watching the race, my cousin Michi (who was spectating at Mile 18) texted me these photos:
This last photo is my favorite; it looks like they are floating on air!
