Double Fail

Yesterday I had a 1500-yard swim on my schedule. It's not a distance that is particularly challenging for me. And I really do love to swim. But for the life of me, I could not get out of bed in time to get to the pool. I blamed the time change. {Side note: I prefer to swim at 6 am vs. the afternoon/evenings...the water feels "less used"...}.

I planned a do-over for this morning. So last night I packed my gym back with my swim gear, set the alarm for 20-minutes earlier than usual and went to bed early enough to get at least 7 1/2 hours of sleep.

This morning the alarm went off and I got up on time. But then I heard the wind blowing, the rain coming down and said, "Not today, maybe Thursday..." then went back to sleep for another hour (I can't say I'm sleep-deprived...")

*Sigh*

Using the weather for today's excuse is so lame because:

1. The pool is indoors. 2. The forecast shows rain through next Thursday so I need to get over it.

I think the fact that come Sunday I will be attempting an open water swim, in the Bay, when the forecast is now showing rain and a high of 49 degrees (I swear it keeps lowering every day) is making me subconsciously avoid the pool.

Can someone please call me on Thursday at 5 am Pacific Time and hold me accountable to get moving? I need a little extra motivation this week...
