Happy Girls Day!

Wednesday’s Workout: AM: Sleep – I needed it. PM: 6 mile run {its the first time in ages I've run on back-to-back days...and didn't feel sore}

I’ve concluded that my sleep challenges are escalated on days where I run at night. Usually I can fall asleep without any problems but I get up at 2 or 3 am and can’t fall back asleep. But on days that I run after work I can’t even fall asleep and when I do, it is not a restful sleep. So this morning I made sleeping in my workout. It felt good.

Although I did wake up at 3 am famished. Is this normal? I’m guessing not.


It's March 3rd, aka 3/3, which means its Girls Day! ...also known at Hina Matsuri!

When I was little this was a big deal. My sister and I would always get little presents from our parents. Then, at school, the boys would have to do nice things for the girls -- like take clear our lunch trays for us. It's always been one of my favorite days of the year!

So ladies, make the fellas do something nice for you today!

{And in case you're wondering, Boy's Day is on May 5th, aka 5/5}


At Monday’s yoga class, Alex (instructor) made a profound statement that I’ve been thinking about all week:

Instead of focusing on how we need to fix our bodies, how about we enjoy them?

Makes you think huh?

My brain naturally gravitates towards thinking about things “I need to fix.” I think this is natural human nature. So this month I’m going to issue myself a challenge to make a daily entry to a list of how I have benefited from my body. I’ll share my list at the end of the month.

Some other things I will be attempting this month:

- A budget challenge: I’m going to record everything I purchase that isn’t already allocated for in my budget. I have 2 trips planned this month so this will be interesting. I hope I will be brave enough to share this; i.e., I hope I don't go overboard.

- Speaking of traveling, not only will I be traveling 2 out of the 4 weekends this month, I also have major things planned on other 2 remaining weekends. So with less than 2 months till the marathon (May 1), I’m also challenging myself not to miss any of my workouts.

- And lastly I *will* read one book this month. I love to read but never seem to have time to do so, but this month I will try to make the time for it. Let’s hope I’m not powering through the book on the 30th and 31st of this month to make this goal. Hey, thank goodness for that extra day! :)
