Ok if you know me, then you know that I don't cook. Its not like I don't want to, I'm just not very good at it. At all. Once I even messed up Hamburger Helper - ask Mikilani!
However, over the holidays, my Aunty Delta made Paula Deen's Jambalaya and it was soooo good! I think I ate the whole pot! It inspired me to watch the Food Network. So now I tivo Paula Deen, Rachel Ray, Elie Kruger and a bunch of other shows that take up all the space on my TiVo. Those ladies make cooking seem so easy! So now, as I watch the Food Network shows, I have my laptop handy so I can look the recipes online and follow along at the same time.
Tonight I got brave and decided to try to make the Jambalaya. In addition to Paula's recipe, I added in a pound of scallops, fresh minced onions and brown rice (which required longer cooking time). Shockingly, it turned out so good! Its nice and spicy, just the way I like it and its perfect for a stormy night like tonight!
