New Apps!

AM: Sleep!

PM: 5-mile run

I intended to go to a Dailey Method 6 am class today, but once again, I just couldn’t get out of bed. I was upset with myself because I could feel a pattern developing here. But later in the day, after work I headed out for a run. Being so tired and lethargic lately, I didn’t expect much except to just log some miles. But with each mile run, the better I felt, and each mile turned out faster than the previous one.

Perhaps rest does do me some good, eh?

New Apps

Last Saturday, my cousin Troy showed me the iPhoto 11 app he downloaded to his Mac. I was curious to see how it differed from the standard app that came on the Mac. He sent me this to show me how cool it is:

So of course, I had to download it for myself! And after doing so, I surfed the App Store and found a few more cool apps for the Mac that make blogging/journaling a little easier.

Personally, I hate writing posts directly in WordPress. I have experimented with a couple of other tools that I didn’t particularly like. But now I’ve found something that so far, has been working for me!

If you’re like me, you get random thoughts throughout the day. I’d scribble them down on post-its until my desk was covered with them. This app allows me to type of a thought; it saves it and then at the end of the day (or whenever I specify) it emails me a summary of all the entries I made that day. It helps to organize them into a post.

Day One:

There are some things that aren’t appropriate to blog about, but I still need to get it off my chest. So I use this app for private journaling. I can tag/categorize, star, etc.

This is purely a journal app. I’m using it for 2 journals. One for writing blog posts and the other for writing notations on my overall health, i.e., what I ate, how I slept, how I worked out and how I felt overall. I’m not tracking numbers on it or anything, but mostly how I feel and what factors contributed to it.

What I love most about this app is that I can see my entries in a calendar layout.

The great thing about these apps is that they each have corresponding iPhone apps that sync together!

Do I sound Type A enough yet? :)

A couple of other fun apps I downloaded are:

Artboard which functions like PhotoShop. I haven’t had a chance to experience with it much, but I’m looking forward to playing with it!

Zapd is an iPhone app that lets you create web pages directly on your iPhone and share them!

Do you use any special program to blog? Any cool apps (for the iPhone or Mac) that I should know about?
