Its only 8:15 pm and I'm already ready for bed. That's what happens when it starts getting dark at 4 pm! I actually intended on going for a run around that time. After feeling pretty good during yesterday's run, I just wasn't feeling it this morning. I still have all kinds of aches and pains and I just can't run 2 days in a row right now. Instead, I did some PT exercises that I've been assigned to do. It was the first time I attempted to do them all at one time, and holy hell, it was hard. It took a full hour and I was sweating up a storm.
Of course, it didn't help that it was in the mid-70's today. Yes, the mid-70's, aka way too warm for me. What happened to Fall weather? Where's the cold weather? I was going to attempt an evening run, but it got dark so fast, that I just said, "Screw it" and caught up on all my TiVo's television shows from last week instead. Plus, did I mention that it was warm today?
I guess I thought that if I made some cold weather food, it would feel more like Fall. I haven't tried a lot of new recipes in a while, but I've been seeing a lot of recipes that I want to try on the blogs that I read, so I broke out the slow cooker (that I haven't used in over a year) and attempted this Chicken Tortilla Soup recipe. It seemed simple enough, but you never know with my cooking. I'm not sure you can even call it cooking. Usually, I am the only one who can eat my "cooking."
But even I must say, it turned out pretty good! I'll definitely be having leftovers this week. Sorry, I forgot to take a photo of it. And since my blog's Wordpress theme requires a photo, I leave you with this photo that 4-year old Jasmine drew for me yesterday. The people in it are me, her, and her mom (my cousin). Why do the 2 big people have 4 eyes and no nose?
